CEMA Electric Lighting is a leading lighting solutions company, part of the Saratoga Lighting Holdings, USA, formed after acquiring the consumer business operations of GE in South Asia. It has a major presence in the Home and Professional Lighting segments in India catering to around 2 lakh retail outlets through its network of over 600 distributors.

The company manufactures and markets a wide variety of lighting products including Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), Tubular Fluorescent Lamps (FTL), High Intensity Discharge Lamps (HID) and Metal Halide Lamps (MH), Domestic & Commercial Light Fixtures.

GE Lighting Acquisition

The company was formed in Jan 2007 from the acquisition of General Electric’s Consumer Lighting Business in India by Saratoga Lighting Holdings; a company focused on the global lighting industry and has operations in several countries including USA, China and India.


CEMA has its Operations Headquarters in Cochin, its Sales Headquarters in Bangalore and operates 15 branch offices around India. CEMA manufactures its consumer lighting products and glass products at its facility in Limbasi, Gujarat. The major product lines produced here are Glass shells, Plain Cut Tubes, Incandescent Lamps, Fluorescent Tubular Lamps and High Intensity Discharge Lamps.
